3nd Annual - AAF Central MN 1 by 1 Art Gala Extravaganza

1 by 1 art gala extravaganza

Tom Shmidt and his ODDYCongrats to Tom Schmidt, this year's ODDY Winner

Tom gets to take home the (sort of) coveted ODDY award. Tom's "Reactor 03" piece received the highest bid, and once again exhibited how truly creative one can get with the 1 by 1 format.

Thank you to everyone who participated: artists, bidders and attendees alike.

Check out some photos from the event, starting with the winning artwork.

Event Details

The Art - if you are interested in participating your creativity to this event and would like an official 1 by 1 Art Board - contact Kristie Haubrich.

The 3rd Annual One Ft. by One Ft. Art Gala Extravaganza is coming, Thursday, December 4, at the Red Carpet Event Center.

As before, the event will feature artwork by an eclectic mix of area individuals including graphic designers, artists, marketing folk and students. All pieces will be held for silent auction with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the AAF’s National Student Advertising Competition. There will be a $5 entry fee, free hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by Paul “Stretch” Diethelm.

All art contributors will receive recognition on the AAF-Central Minnesota Web site. The artist whose piece fetches the highest auction price will also receive special recognition and the coveted traveling Oddy award.

Rules: Bidding

The silent auction will begin at 5:30 pm and end at 7. To place a bid, write your name and the amount of your bid on the bid sheet accompanying each submission. Bids begin at $10 and must be increased by a minimum of $2. You may bid as often as you like on as many pieces as you like. Items will be sold to the highest bidder, and we ask that payments be made by cash or check before leaving the event. Otherwise we will call and respectfully request you pick up and pay for your item(s) within one week.

Rules: Art

All art must be affixed, connected, applied to and/or utilize the entirety of the official One Ft. by One Ft. art board, which will be distributed in advance by request. A $5 deposit is required to receive a board, and the artist will receive a door voucher for the event when the board is returned. If you are an artist, student or AAF member who would like to be involved in this year’s One Ft. by One Ft. Art Gala Extravaganza, please contact Kristie Haubrich. Locations for picking up your board will be provided when you register.

Entries are due on Wednesday, Nov 26th, 2007, by 4:00 pm.

2007 Results and Photos:

Congratulations to the Bernick's Digital P.O.S Department for their high-bid-fetching art. The Designers (Jen Edelbrock, Julie Mrozek, Tracy Zinken, Emily Waldron and Tina Hausauer) came up with a clock idea based off the theme they made up and are currently using in the Banner room. With help from the Refurb Dept and a few purchased supplies, the art piece was a success. They get to take home the traveling ODDY trophy.

Check out some photos from the 2007 event, starting with the winning piece.

Thanks to all who were involved in 2006!

The event was a success and we want to thank all of the artists who donated their work, event attendees, organizers, and winning bidders. A special thanks to Matt Schnell, of Hatling Flint, who created the ODDY award winning art, and to the Nacey family for having the highest bid.

Check out some photos of the art and the event last year- starting with Matt's winning piece.
